Barnsley vs Hull – Tips and Betting Predictions

Championship, kick-off at 3:00pm Saturday 21st October 2017 from Oakwell

Barnsley v Hull Tips

Hull have proven a tough nut to crack for punters this season, and they go into game 13 down in 16th, having won just three of their first 12. That patchy form is made up of four draws and five defeats, meaning we must tread carefully when aiming to take a profit from The Tigers. They’re next in with fellow struggles Barnsley.

The Tykes enjoy home advantage, and made that count last season when winning this fixture 2-0 back in April, a result achieved thanks to goals from Mellis and O’Grady. Team News – Barnsley

Paul Heckingbottom’s side endured a slow start to the season, hence their lowly position in the charts, but they go into this match unbeaten in three, a recovery made up of two draws and a win. That spare victory came over Millwall, winning 3-1 in London, but is sandwiched between level finishes with QPR and Middlesbrough, both at Oakwell. Two sides punters would have expected them to lose against, so credit must be given.

Last seen battling to a 2-2 with Boro, Barnsley took the lead inside two minutes, Fletcher scoring into his own net early in the contest. That error set the pace for what was an entertaining 90 minutes, with plenty of chances at either end. Braithwaite hit back on seven minutes, McGeehan restoring Barnsley’s lead on nine minutes. A fast start, but it took until the hour-match before Assombalango got it to 2-2.

Speaking to the press at full-time, Heckingbottom thought the fact they were ahead twice in the match means they have to be disappointed with the share, but I doubt that will be the case behind closed doors. Fans got value for money out of the game, and Barnsley were able to boost their points tally. Another draw is an option when putting together your betting tips and predictions at 12/5 with Boylesports. Prefer a home win? Get on the 15/8 available through the Betfair exchange.

Team News – Hull

Hull were picked out by certain punters to push for promotion back to the Premier League this season but, following a summer of change, they’ve found points hard to come by this season, and start down in the bottom-half. The Tigers have drawn three of their last five, and that was extended with a point vs Norwich last time. They deserved three.

Dicko fired Hull ahead on 29 minutes, before Meyler shot his employers in the foot, sent off just shy of the hour for a second bookable offence. It was a major let down for Hull fans, made all the worse by the fact The Canaries used their numerical advantage to grab an equaliser. With 96 minutes on the clock, it looked like Hull had held on, but Oliveira banged in a late leveller, very late in fact.

Leonid Slutsky thought his men showed real character when it was 10 vs 11, and was proud of their spirit, but found the last-gasp goal difficult to take. He refused to give his analysis on the sucker-punch, still finding it very raw. Hull came agonisingly close to winning, will they go one better? The away day is backable at 7/5 (Coral).

Barnsley vs Hull – Championship Tips and Betting Predictions

Hull are favourites for the points, but I can’t get away from the draw that appears to be leaping off the page at us. Combining the recent form of these opponents, Barnsley and Hull have drawn seven games so far. Stick with that, it makes perfect sense to us. Draw stands as the ace of our betting tips at 12/5 (Boylesport).

If they draw, how will they do it? Well, it certainly pays to know, so we’re having the correct score in our predictions. There’s plenty of value flying around here, but we’re going to push our luck and take a prod at 2-2, best price when betting at William Hill, 14/1 up for grabs. That will put a smile on your face come the full-time whistle.
