Championship, kick-off at 3:00pm Saturday 14th October 2017 from Craven Cottage
We’re back at Craven Cottage this weekend for what promises to be a competitive 90 minutes. Fulham host Preston from 3.00pm on Saturday, with the visitors four places higher in the table than their hosts. Victory for North End could drive them into the top-two automatic promotion slots.
Fulham could do with the win themselves, knowing victory would see them draw level with their opponents in the charts. Bookies can’t see past the locals, pricing a home win as odds-on favourites, but who should you trust? Form or odds? We lead you towards profit with our betting tips and predictions.

Team News – Fulham
Fulham have lost just two of their opening 11 matches, but draws have stunted their progress so far. The Londoners appear to be getting things right going into autumn, and a win on Saturday would see them complete the hat-trick, having taken all three points in their last two, thanks to wins over Nottingham Forest and QPR on the road. They must build on that when back in front of their own fans, but managed a 1-1 draw with Middlesbrough when last at the cottage.
Odds compilers keep another share of the spoils close here, for obvious reasons, and if you struggle the separate the pair, and would prefer a position up on the fence, the draw can be added to your predictions at a handy 11/4 with Betfair. That wouldn’t rate as the biggest upset of the weekend, and we’re sure both managers would be happy enough to get something out of a risky tie. Two of their last five have ended 1-1.
Fulham fans will take heart from the fact they beat Preston home and away last season however, winning 2-1 on the road and 3-1 at this venue back in March. Both teams have scored in each of the last five renewals of this fixture – the same again is an option in your betting tips at 8/13 (Betfair). The Cottagers to continue their winning ways in this fixture is 10/11 favourite, a price available when getting your money down at Coral.
Team News – Preston
A record of five wins, five draws and one defeat has Preston in sixth. Another side who have stuttered in the early part of the campaign, taking a point from games where three was a real possibility, they’ve been level in each of their last two. A win over Hull City at the KCOM remains sandwiched between 0-0 vs Millwall and 2-2 vs Sunderland, both coming at home. It appears Alex Neil’s side prefer getting out of Deepdale.
They played two away games last month, and won both. It is worth noting however that both teams scored in each of those victories, meaning a play on Preston to win and both teams to score deserves our attention, especially with bet365 dangling a chunky 6/1 carrot out there to be nibbled at. Given the stats, I certainly wouldn’t put anyone off. The price is bigger than I’d have it myself.
The Lilywhites have been scored out by traders, and aren’t expected to get anything out of the match. That seems a bit harsh, considering they have the better form of the two sides, but those who disagree with the market will be delighted to see bet365 handing over as much 7/2 as you can carry. Preston to find the net is odds-on, but Bet Victor’s 3/10 looks tailor made for accumulators.
Fulham vs Preston – Championship Tips and Betting Predictions
A tight match ahead, I am pulled towards the draw, but would rather play it safe and take both teams to score as the NAP of our betting tips at 8/13 with Betfair. Another price that’s probably better in multiples, but we reckon it’ll make a solid leg, and help boost your returns. It rates as the major clue when flicking through form and past results.
Aiming higher and we can afford to keep our stakes low in the correct score market. 2-2 seems well worth an interest, especially with William Hill dealing out 14/1. That’s top price, meaning we should go with Hills, as most of the competition trade much shorter. Preston finished that way with Sunderland last time, while Fulham beat QPR 2-1.
