Chelsea vs Everton – Tips and Betting Predictions

Carabao EFL League Cup, kick-off at 7:45pm Wednesday 25th October 2017 from Stamford Bridge

Chelsea v Everton Tips

Under-pressure Everton could do without a trip to Stamford Bridge on Wednesday, but that’s exactly the size of the task that stands in front of The Toffees as they take on The Blues in EFL Cup duty from 7.45pm. Chelsea are odds-on favourites, which is what we expected to see, but there’s enough value in the match to give us an interest.

These sides met at this venue in the Premier League back in August, the locals strolling to a 2-0 win, thanks to goals from Fabregas and Morata. More of the same, or can Everton pull themselves out of a hole with an upset win? We pick through the best of our predictions & betting tips below.

Team News – Chelsea

Antonio Conte’s side got back to winning ways at the weekend, and it wasn’t a moment too soon for followers of the champions, following back-to-back defeats. Three points gained from Watford at the bridge was their first win of the month in all competitions, but lifted them back into the top-four, ahead of Arsenal on goal difference. Pedro and Azpilicueta were both on target, and there was also a double for Batshuayi, helping lift the pressure. Watford were always competitive, scoring through Doucoure and Pereyra.

The teams went into the break level, but a strong second-half performance helped blow away a stubborn Hornets. Conte needed the win, and the relief on his face was there for all to see. Speaking to the press at full-time, the fiery manager credited his players for showing their fighting spirit. An important win for the boss, he’s sure to freshen things up for the visit of Everton, but is expected to get a similar result.

Chelsea to get the win in front of their own fans is currently no more than Sportingbet’s 9/20. One for the betting tips and predictions of accumulator backers, we expect. If you’re looking for your stake money to work that little bit harder on your behalf, try the value about the Londoners to win to nil. That’s a 7/5 poke when doing your betting at Paddy Power. Fabregas scored first when Chelsea last hosted Everton, but the Spaniard is 11/1 (bet365) to repeat the feat.

Team News – Everton

Incredibly, Everton are down in the relegation zone after nine games, showing two wins, two draws and five defeats. They’ve managed just one point from the last nine up for grabs, piling pressure on manager Ronald Koeman, who knows he’s close to losing his job. It’s difficult to fight his corner too. After being handed a bumper summer transfer kitty, he spent over £100m, but is on-course to be relegated to the Championship.

The Toffees were last seen losing to Arsenal on Sunday, hammered 5-2 in front of their own fans. Everton’s form so far this month in all competitions is made up of three defeats and one draw. Hosting Arsenal, they scored through Rooney and Niasse, but had Gueye sent off late in the day. Arsenal won the points, thanks to goals from Monreal, Ozil, Lacazette, Ramsey and Sanchez. Koeman told members of the press in the tunnel that he’s the man to turn around the club’s fortunes. Try telling fans that.

Another defeat is expected on Wednesday evening, but if you’ve seen something in the visitors that the rest of us have missed, then you can back the away day at 15/2. That price is best with Coral, so if you rate Everton’s chances, think they’re overpriced, or just fancy a go at a nice pay-out, be sure to get involved with Coral, ensuring you get the most for your money.

Chelsea vs Everton – Carabao EFL League Cup Tips and Betting Predictions

We have to back Chelsea here – of course we do. It’s likely Conte will freshen things up, giving a number of fringe players their chance to shine, but Everton’s confidence is at rock-bottom, and I wouldn’t trust them to look after our hard-earned cash. Certainly not until we see some improvement. Both score and Chelsea win is the best of our betting tips at 11/5 (888Sport).

Moving into the pick of our correct score predictions, aiming for a bigger pay-out, and we’re having 3-1 Chelsea at 11/1 with Betfred. Chelsea will rest some of their star names, but Everton lost five goals last time out, and will go into this match a nervous wreck. A nice price, and we’re happy to have a go at boosting our balance.
