Team News – Man City

Manchester City extended their unbeaten start to the season to eight wins and one draw with a weekend home cheer over Burnley. Not the toughest fixture of their season, and the locals were expected to score a few more than the three registered, but it was a case of job done for the league leaders. With Man Utd losing to Huddersfield in a shock, City are now five points clear of the chasing pack, and shaping like a side capable of leading from post to post.

Aguero scored from the penalty spot on 30 minutes to send The Citizens into half-time with a 1-0 lead on Saturday, but a quick-fire double in the second-45 put the game to bed, Otamendi and Sane scoring within two minutes of each other to stretch the game out. 3-0 was more than enough to secure the desired result, and it was a fully deserved three points too. That goal means Aguero equals his employers all-time scoring record.

Fancy more of the same? The gifted striker is 5/2 favourite with Betfred to score first on Tuesday, but we’d be surprised if he was handed a start. It’s better to wait until the team news comes out on the night before placing your goal scorer bets. A Man City win is 1/7 with bet365, which is short enough, but is actually top price. Take -2 on the handicap and there’s more to like, 10/11 at Paddy Power. The latter should pop up in a share of predictions.

Team News – Wolves

If you place your trust in the thinking of traders, this will be a straight home win, no questions asked. Therefore, we’re left thinking just how competitive can Wolves make this leg, before being knocked out. They haven’t visited City since losing 3-1 on Premier League duty back in 2011. Dzeko, Kolarov and Johnson were all on target that day, Hunt hitting back. If you think they’ll score again, take both teams to hit the net in your betting tips at 10/11 (Boylesports).

Nuno Espirito Santo’s side continued their solid start to the season when reeling off a third win on the bounce last time out, beating Preston 3-2 on Saturday in a thriller at Molineaux. Cavaleiro scored first, Bonatini knocked in a double, Hugill and a Coady OG forcing an interesting finish. Preston had chances to get a draw, but saw Browne sent off near the end to cap a miserable finish. Losing boss Alex Neil thought the referee cost his side the game, while Santo called it an important three points.

Wolves arrive with confidence to burn, but they’re as big as 20/1 with Boylesports to get the win. A stunning price, and it may just be worth an interest play, if City field a weakened side. It does look a tad disrespectful to the visitors, but it is understandable. The draw isn’t too much more likely, 10/1 going around at 888Sport.

Man City vs Wolves – Carabao EFL League Cup Tips and Betting Predictions

I wouldn’t put anyone off a small play on that bumper Wolves price, but it’s just not for me. Instead, we’re going to have both teams to score and Man City to win as the NAP of our betting tips. There’s 13/10 at Coral that we’re right there, which is a nice price, considering just how short City are in the match odds. Worth a go, and it’ll give a serious boost to your multiples.

If City are on form they can put in another high-scoring result. The fringe players brought in will be eager to catch the manager’s eye, and with Wolves involved in a five-goal thriller last time, we fancy more of the same. 3-1 Man City is the ace of our correct score predictions, 10/1 at 888Sport. That price allows us to keep our stakes low, while aiming for a nice pay-out.
