Bradford vs Charlton – Tips and Betting Predictions

League One, kick-off at 3:00pm Saturday 21st October 2017 from Valley Parade

Bradford v Charlton Tips

Third place Bradford City can’t move into the top-two automatic promotion slots with a win over Charlton on Saturday, Wigan in second five points better off after 14 games played. But they can certainly pile on the pressure by boosting their tally by three. Charlton are no pushovers at this level however, and can leapfrog their hosts with the right result.

Little between the pair in the league table, recent meetings would suggest a draw is the smart play at 5/2 with Betfair. Each of the last two matches involving these sides have finished all-square, including a 1-1 earlier this year. Will this renewal fall into line? Find out through our betting tips and predictions. Team News – Bradford

The Bantams missed out on promotion last season, falling in the play-offs, and they’ll be eager to learn from the mistakes of that campaign and avoid the lottery of an extended season this time out. A top-two finish is the aim, and they’ve certainly started well enough, winning eight and drawing three of their first 14. A strong set of results, but the locals have done themselves no favours recently, managing to bank just one point from the last six up for grabs.

Back-to-back wins over Doncaster and MK Dons gave fans plenty to shout about, but they were then beaten 3-1 by Bury on the road, before having to settle for a 1-1 vs Oldham at this stadium in midweek. Taylor scored inside three minutes, giving Stuart McCall’s side an ideal start, but that advantage was cancelled out by Doyle on 23 minutes. A fantastic opener to an entertaining match, but there was to be no further goals.

Oldham are getting better with the passing of every week, and no one would grudge them the share at Valley Parade, but Bradford were wasteful in front of goal and really should have won the match with a bit to spare. Three points on Saturday would set them right back on course, and you can have the locals in your betting tips and predictions at 43/40 through Sportingbet. A win to nil gives us a shot at a bigger price, 3/1 trading at Coral.

Team News – Charlton

Charlton have a job on their hands if they are to get the win away from home, coming to Valley Parade rating as a difficult task for any club at this level. The Addicks trip with reason to be confident though, having won two of their last three and pieced together an unbeaten run in their last five. 24 points on the board has them sitting fifth, level with Rotherham in fourth and just three points off their hosts.

Karl Robinson’s team followed a 1-0 win over Doncaster at home with a useful midweek draw vs Oxford United on the road. Fosu-Henry has been in fantastic goal-scoring form of late, and is sure to catch the eye of higher ranked sides. He was on target again on Tuesday, scoring the first goal of the game inside 20 minutes. That advantage was cut out by Ribeiro shortly after, ensuring both teams ended with something to show for their efforts. The stats suggest a level finish was fair.

Back both teams to score again on Saturday at 4/5, top offer at Sportingbet. That’ll hold its own in your Saturday accumulators, and we’re confident it’ll prove popular with punters on the day. If you want to jump off the fence and back Charlton to get the win, bet365’s 23/10 is better than most of the competition, by a good bit too. I wouldn’t put anyone off.

Bradford vs Charlton – League One Tips and Betting Predictions

I’m going to follow the trends here and take the clues given. Each of the last two meetings of these rivals have ended in a draw, while both teams also got a point from their last league start. I wouldn’t be shocked to see the pair scrap out another share, and we’re on at 5/2 with Betfair. That’s the best of our betting tips, and that can be used in accas, or as a super single.

A nice price, and there’s plenty of joy to be had in backing the draw, but bigger prizes await those shrewd enough to land a correct score. The standout of our predictions there is the 0-0 finish at 10/1, a price available with most bookmakers, including Betfair. That would’ve been paid out as a winner when Bradford last welcomed Charlton to town.
