Brighton vs Everton – Tips and Betting Predictions

Premier League, kick-off at 1:30pm Sunday 15th October 2017 from Falmer Stadium

Brighton v Everton Tips

Super Sunday, but Everton and their fans feel nothing but pressure when journeying to the Falmer Stadium for a Premier League tussle with Brighton. The Toffees were expected to be fighting for top-spot by this point of the season, following a summer of investment. Instead they’re more likely to be battling the drop come spring.

Their fortunes must improve, and quickly. The big-money signings in the dressing room must repay the faith shown in them my manager Ronald Koeman, or it could be the gaffer with his head on the chopping board before too long. There’s plenty to bet on in this one, and we offer our views on how best to approach it. Professional predictions and match betting tips explained.

Team News – Brighton

The Seagulls have struggled for consistency in the early exchanges of their Premier League campaign, but they are performing above expectations, holding their own up in 14th. Steady ground, given the level of opposition, but only two points currently stands between themselves and Swansea down in the relegation zone, with plenty of twists and turns to come. Two wins, one draw and four defeats places the locals ahead of West Ham, Leicester, and Sunday’s opponents.

Manager Chris Hughton’s last five reads draw-win-lose-win-lose. If they keep that up, there’s little doubt they’ll end in or around the middle of the charts, which we’re sure everyone at the club would bite your hand off for at present. The locals did go into the international break on the back of defeat, sinking on the opening day of the month at the Emirates. Monreal and Iwobi were on target for Arsenal, the beaten side managing just one shot on target.

Hughton called it a spirited performance when speaking to the waiting media post-match, and couldn’t have asked for anymore from his boys. Losing to Arsenal in London isn’t going to dent their confidence too much – they’ll dust themselves off and come again. Brighton can be backed for the points at 11/5 (Betfair), a draw cast as a more likely outcome at 23/10 (bet365).

Team News – Everton

Everton are fancied by traders to get the win, and they certainly need the win if they are to salvage their season. The Toffees go into this with a CV showing two wins, one draw and four defeats, leaving them level on points with West Ham and Brighton, four goals behind the locals. They’ve been rotten in recent weeks, losing four and winning one of their last five. A 2-1 cheer at home to Bournemouth was followed by a painful loss in front of their own fans vs Burnley.

Expected to double up, Everton were beaten by a single goal, Hendrick notching what turned out to be the winner on 21 minutes. Koeman’s side had more of the match possession, and an incredible 25 shots at goal, but managed to put just four of them on target. That’s shocking, especially when measured against the stats of their opponents, five at goal, two on target, one hitting the net. It’s the latter that matters most, but that wastefulness is hard to swallow.

There’s no doubt Everton are missing Lukaku. If they had last season’s prize, the Belgian would be turning those chances into goals and wins, there’s little doubt about that. A replacement must step up to the mark, but they can’t put all the pressure on Rooney. Fancy the penny to drop for the visitors? They’re 6/4 favourites with Sun Bets to win the match, but that’s tighter than I would like, given their form.

Brighton vs Everton – Premier League Tips and Betting Predictions

Not a lot of value floating around in the match betting market, so we’re going to rise above it and look elsewhere. Sticking with the stats and both teams have scored in each of the last six meetings of these rivals. This one to fall into line and give us more of the same is a 21/20 play at bet365. That will do as a NAP of our betting tips. We’re hoping both can finally take their chances.

Continuing with that thought, and if these sides have packed their scoring boots, and can improve on their recent shyness in front of goal, we should be in for an entertaining match. Boost your enjoyment of the fixture with a poke at the correct score, where we try 2-1 Everton as the next best of our predictions, 10/1 available at bet365.
