West Ham vs Brighton – Tips and Betting Predictions

Premier League, kick-off at 8:00pm Friday 20th October 2017 from London Stadium

West Ham v Brighton Tips

The Sky Sports cameras are off to Stratford on Friday, bringing us a Premier League meeting between West Ham and Brighton at the London Stadium from 8.00pm. The rivals are locked on eight points, stuck down at the wrong end of the pile, but victory would see one edge their way up through the ranks, at least overnight.

The first meeting of these sides since 2012, when sharing the Championship, Hammers fans will remember all too well their club running riot during a 6-0 win. They’d love a repeat, but that victory came at Upton Park. We give you the winner and correct score of this one – follow our free betting tips and match predictions from East London.

Team News – West Ham

Two wins, two draws and four defeats, a disappointing start for a West Ham side we thought could perhaps push their way back up into the top-10 this season. The locals were poor last term, but certainly caught the imagination of fans during the summer transfer window, making some big-name signings. They are improving however, and go into round nine with just one defeat in their last five, the same run giving two wins and two draws.

Slaven Bilic again found himself under pressure last month, but the locals are unbeaten in two, following a 1-0 home win over Swansea with a 1-1 finish vs Brighton last time. The latter is a match they really should be winning if they have ambitions of a top-half finish, but cost themselves the points. Antonio got The Hammers ahead early in the day, before Carroll was sent off for a second bookable offence and Wood struck a late equaliser, levelling up on 85 minutes.

Bilic, surprisingly, called it a good point for his team when speaking to members of the press at full-time. The gaffer did have mixed emotions, but when playing most of the match with 10 men, he seemed happy enough to get out with a share. 11 players on the park again and they’ll target all three on Friday. West Ham win goes at 4/5 with 888Sport, while another to nil can be added to your betting tips and predictions at 19/10 (Boylesports).

Team News – Brighton

Brighton bring the same record and number of points on the board, but have been far less consistent in recent starts, their last five reading win-lose-win-lose-draw. The Seagulls, who have more than held their own since coming up to the top table, started the month with a convincing defeat at the hands of Arsenal, which was to be expected. They then ended level in front of their own fans with Everton, the sides cancelling each other out with late goals.

In an even contest, without too much genuine quality on show, Brighton nicked in front on 82 minutes, Knockaert scoring a goal fans hoped would prove to be the winner. It didn’t, as there was one final twist in the tale, Rooney scoring a 90th minute equaliser. Pressure is building on Toffees boss Ronald Koeman, and the fact opposite number Chris Koeman labelled a point disappointing for his team proves it.

They came within seconds of all three points last time, but will be eager to keep their concentration until the final whistle this weekend, turning one point into three. Fancy the visitors? There’s reason to believe they could get the win, and if you want to trust them with your hard-earned cash, do so at Betfair, as they are market best price 4/1 on the away day. That’s bigger than I expected, with a competitive 90 minutes ahead.

West Ham vs Brighton – Premier League Tips and Betting Predictions

West Ham are improving and I have them as narrow winners of this match, but they’re not at the point yet I’d consider them bankers, far from it in fact. Instead, we’re going to go with both teams to score as the NAP of our betting tips, which rates as an 11/10 shot at Betfair. One for your accas, and with both conceding late last time, we should get a run for our money.

A solid price to get your weekend off on the right foot, but if you’re sniffing out a bit more, eager to hit bookies in the pocket at the first opportunity, then try your luck in the correct score market. We’re taking 2-1 West Ham as the next best of our predictions, top offer 17/2 when punting with bet365. That should give us a shot at a decent pay-out.
