Celtic vs Dundee – Tips and Betting Predictions

Scottish Premiership, kick-off at 3:00pm Saturday 14th October 2017 from Celtic Park

Celtic v Dundee Tips

This will be the second meeting of Celtic and Dundee this season, and you won’t be surprised to learn The Bhoys swaggered to a comfortable win in the League Cup at Dens Park last month. 4-0 was the result on that occasion, and there will be plenty of money coming for another win for last season’s treble winners. The only downside with that, they’re as short as 1/12.

To make matters worse for visiting fans, we have to go back to 2001 for Dundee’s last win over Celtic in Glasgow. They’ve taken some hammerings in the games since too. We could give The Hoops as strong picks for the points, but we’re all about the value when piecing together our betting tips and predictions. That’s why you’ll find a nice price pick below.

Team News – Celtic

Back to the top of the league and firing in the Champions League. We did say at the start of the season that Brendan Rodgers’ side, the one that went through a domestic season unbeaten last time, was looking better this year, which is frightening for Scottish football. They’re joined at the top by Aberdeen, the pair level on points, showing six wins and two draws, but The Bhoys have drawn two of their last five, including last time out.

Ending September with a 2-2, a surprising result that came on the back of that famous 3-0 win over Anderlecht in the Champions League the start before, perhaps the dropped points could be blamed on tired legs. That would be unfair on The Hibees however, who have taken four points vs either side of the Old Firm so far. McGregor scored a double that day, one either side of half-time, McGinn notching two for the Edinburgh side.

Neil Lennon enjoyed a thrilling return to Parkhead, and came agonisingly close to ending his former employers’ 58-game unbeaten record. Certainly a lot closer than most at this level. Both teams to score again on Saturday when Dundee arrive has been written off at 23/20 with William Hill. An interest on the home win just isn’t there for us, William Hill offering a top price 1/8 on the locals, which is no good for average punters. -2 on the handicap can be added to your betting tips at 5/6 (Betfair).

Team News – Dundee

Dundee have lost four of their first eight league outings, but they seem to have turned a corner and go into week nine in eighth place. Just a point off Hearts in seventh, they are also only one better than Ross County down in 10th. Thankfully for fans, the bottom-two relegation places sit five points behind, Kilmarnock and Partick Thistle looking in a heap of trouble, both winless so far. Neil McCann has led his side to seven points from the last nine.

The Dens Park club continued that improvement when pulling off an upset vs Hearts last time out, beating The Jambos 2-1 before the international break. Following a 1-1 away to Kilmarnock, they battled to a pulsating victory over Craig Levein’s crew, a Waddell double bettering a reply from Lafferty. The match was looking on-course for the draw, before defender Waddell headed home a corner on 93 minutes to nick the points.

McCann thought his boys were excellent in the first-half, crediting a change in formation for that success. Another win seems beyond them, certainly according to bookmakers, and they are 11/10 with William Hill to score a goal, the same firm making a blank more likely at 4/6. The away win won’t appear in too many predictions, even at the crazy 30/1 being offered up by Betfair. A stunning price, but that makes perfect sense. +2 on the handicap is 5/2 (Betfair).

Celtic vs Dundee – Scottish Premiership Tips and Betting Predictions

We can’t see past a Celtic win, but then again, we can’t give a Celtic win at the price. Therefore, with a much-needed rest behind the squad, we’ll take them to win to nil as the best of our betting tips at 17/20 with Bet Victor. That will do a job in your accumulators and, considering the match betting price, is a decent enough offer to give us an interest. NAP of our betting tips.

That play would’ve turned you a profit when the sides met in Dundee last month and there’s every reason to believe it will again in Glasgow. Celtic scored two goals in two of their last three meetings with Dundee, pushing us into a 2-0 home win as the next best of our predictions. Follow our thinking in the correct score market at 15/2 (Bet Victor).
