We sign off with a host of big winners including 9/1 prize
The weekend of Saturday 19th and Sunday 20th May was most notable for hosting the final of the FA Cup and Scottish Cup. Chelsea edged Manchester United at Wembley in a gripping contest with Hazard scoring a 22nd minute penalty to edge a 1-0.
North of the border and Brendan Rodgers’ Celtic continued to make history, becoming the first team to win the double-treble meaning the former Liverpool gaffer’s tally now stands at six domestic titles from six. New Rangers boss Steven Gerrard faces a mammoth task if he is to stop the rot in Scotland. Goals from McGregor and Ntcham helped The Bhoys beat Motherwell at Hampden.
We hit the post in the FA Cup final, advising no in the both teams to score market as NAP of our betting tips at 19/20 but went with 1-0 Manchester United as the best of our correct score predictions. Not a million miles away, of course, but there was more to shout about across Europe.
The weekend also saw many of the continent’s major leagues roll to a halt and we found some nice price winners across the board. Some of our favourite best bets of the round were AC Milan to win and both teams to score at 21/10, Torino to succeed at 17/10, Getafe 5/4, Girona’s 6/5 and the even money value paid out on Nantes from Ligue 1. Stick them in an accumulator and you wouldn’t have done too badly.
As always, we take particular pride in how our team did giving correct score winners as that’s where the real money lies. Despite a limited number of fixtures on the sheet we managed to give over a dozen winning NAPs, but our standout selection came from the French top-flight involving Monaco.
With three points needed to hold off Lyon and finish as runners up behind PSG, The Red and Whites got the desired result, beating Troyes to end with a three-match winning run. We knew they would and sent out a Monaco win at 2/5 (Paddy Power) as our ace. That would’ve helped out in accas but we’re all about hitting the bookies where it hurts – their profit margin so gave those interested a 3-0 correct score prediction.
Spot on with that shout and followers were paid out at a stunning 9/1 on Saturday night. Perfect timing to get your weekend into full swing. We mentioned in our preview that Monaco would rise to the occasion in what was going to be a dramatic 90 minutes and punters had a Rony Lopes double and Mboula goal to thank for the cash.
We were made to wait for the winner however and those who kept an eye on the cash-out values during the play will know traders had us written off. They smiled as they offered peanuts with 90 minutes on the clock, but we had the last laugh as Mboula scored in the 93rd, resulting in wild celebrations in our office and across the country.

8/1 on Getafe to beat bottom of the league
What a win but it only narrowly beats our silver medallist for the weekend which was an 8/1 champion from La Liga. Getafe were at Malaga on Saturday night and they had little to play for with a top-eight finish already secured. Malaga finished bottom of the league and had lost each of their previous three outings. They stretched that to four in-a-row.
Our Spanish football tipsters knew there was value in backing the visitors against an out of form host at 5/4 (Betfred) and that would’ve been a popular choice among multiple backers. Aiming higher and with not a lot to play for we chalked 1-0 up as our correct score play. That landed at 8/1.
Back in Ligue 1 and Nantes 1-0 was added to the profit pile at 5/1. They needed to round things off with back-to-back victories to finish in the top-10 and did that at the expense of Strasbourg. Favourite but the 5/1 at Paddy Power was a little more than you’d get elsewhere and it proved to be a smart call.
It's now onto the World Cup in Russia where we look to make more money.
