What sort of new customer offers are there?

Nowadays the promotions come in a number of different flavours, here’s a quick run down on what is currently available:

Free bet – deposit match

One of the original and most popular types of offer, a deposit match sees the customer deposit matched by the bookmaker with bonus funds.

Free bet – “bet and get”

In vogue at the moment, the “bet and get” style offer can be seen at a number of the most popular brands. A typical offer will be bet £10 and get £30. Essentially they are expecting the you bet a tenner to receive £30 worth of free bets.

Money back on your first bet

This is an alternative type of new customer offer. The idea of this is to allow a new customer to place their first bet knowing that should it lose, they will have it refunded. There are variations in practice with how this is applied – some bookies refund in cash, others give you a free bet to the same value.

Bet credits / tokens

This is a newer type of offer that has been rolled out in response to growing scrutiny on the betting sector.
